| ABOUT RON |
| Born in Kentucky, raised in Ohio, son of Ted, a precision machinist at a stainless steel company, and Eleanor, a meticulous seamstress for the JC Penny Company.
His younger sister, Terri, is the mother of three sons and five grandchildren. In 1983, Ron took a leave-of-absence from a twelve-year teaching career in Schenectady, to move to NYC and see what he could learn about the theatre profession to take back to his high school drama students. Within the first three months, he landed a recurring role on a daytime drama; and by the end of the year, he had earned union membership in AFTRA, AEA, and SAG. Experiences through the 80s, included work as a production manager on two children's theatre tours, set and lighting designer for several off-off Broadway companies, four seasons as an associate producer for a LORT summer theatre in New Jersey, as well as several years performing in THE FANTASTICKS at the Sullivan Street Playhouse, Off Broadway. In the 90s, Ron made his Broadway debut, and garnered roles and stage managing positions on four national tours, and three workshop productions. In the companies that had children, Ron also served as the company tutor. Since leaving the road in 2002, Ron has stage managed On and Off Broadway, and has performed on stage in several regional theatre productions. Lately, he is honing his improvisational skills, first learned in two seasons with the New York Renaissance Festival, by exploiting his eerie resemblance to Vice President Dick Cheney and working his impersonation with political comedy groups like The Billionaires For Bush and The Turn Left Players. 2009 marks Ron's 26th year as a professional actor. He is actively submitting for roles in film/TV, commercials, voiceovers, and print. |
